Jim McPhillips reports: The Frodsham Rapidplay was held on 1 June 2003. 44 players played in the U160 Major, while the Minor was so large that it had to be divided into two sections.

Major: 1 Paul Woodfinden (Powdermill) 5½/6, 2 Michael Crowther (Stockport) 5, 3-6 Graham Bromley (Chester YMCA), Dave Picken (Hoylake), Colin Roberts (Shifnal & Telford), Richard Westwood (St Mary's) 4½.

Minor A: 1-3 Roy Atherton (Skelmersdale), John Beynon (Northwich), George McGovern (Prescot & Knotty Ash) 5/6.

Minor B: 1 Peter Moss (Halifax) 5½/6, 2-4 George Cloake (Grappenhall), Michael Compston (Numerica 3Cs), Alex Mason (Tameside) 5..

Junior: 1-2 Xi-Yang Guo (Rotherham Jnrs), Thomas Whitaker (Rotherham Jnrs) 5½, 3 Paul Tinton (Chorley Jnrs) 5.
